The Involved Project is a 4 week study that walks you through living out a life of noticing hurting people around you, having compassion on what you see, and doing something about it in a Jesus reflecting way. At Veritas Church, our Connection Groups go through The Involved Project together.  If you would like to get into a Connection group, click here.  If you are not in a Connection Group but would like to go through The Involved Project with someone, fill out the form at the bottom of this page.

As followers of Jesus, we want to grow in being people who notice, feel, and do.

What is Notice, Feel, Do?

Notice.

Throughout the gospels, Jesus demonstrates his awareness of the brokenness in the world. Jesus noticed the blind, the lame, the sick, and the needy. Because of the amount of brokenness in the world we can be tempted to avoid it altogether or grow numb to it. Instead, Jesus invites us to keep our eyes and ears open to the brokenness around us.

12 As he drew near to the gate of the town, behold, a man who had died was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow, and a considerable crowd from the town was with her. 13 And when the Lord saw her…

13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.”

Luke 7:13

Feel.

When Jesus noticed brokenness, compassion followed. Jesus allowed what he noticed to interact with his heart. Jesus invites us to allow the brokenness in and around us to affect our hearts.

13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep.”

Feel.

When Jesus noticed brokenness, compassion followed. Jesus allowed what he noticed to interact with his heart. Jesus invites us to allow the brokenness in and around us to affect our hearts.

Do.

You can be sure that when Jesus had compassion something miraculous was about to happen. As we learn to notice and feel, Jesus invites us to take action in a relational, holistic way.

14 Then he came up and touched the bier, and the bearers stood still. And he said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.” 15 And the dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus[d] gave him to his mother.

Luke 7:14-15
